WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE THAT INFORMATION
Our online contact, registration, and donation forms require users to give us contact information that may include their name, email address, format preference (HTML vs. Text), address, phone number, interests, and similar information. We will not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise reveal this information to a third party or send you mailings on behalf of other organizations. Personally identifiable information is stored in our password-protected database and is not publicly accessible. Further, personally identifiable information is only accessed by the SAPC Board of Directors or third-party affiliates on a “need to know” basis. SAPC does not request or store sensitive information, such as credit card or social security numbers.
INTERNET PROTOCOL ADDRESS
We collect an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, track users’ movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
USE OF “COOKIES”
All information provided to SAPC is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Site that is only accessible by certain qualified members of the SAPC Board of Directors or third-party affiliates. However, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
When you provide SAPC with information about yourself and/or your organization while registering for an event, making a donation (online and offline), or applying for employment, this information is not used for any other purpose than to fulfill your request, and it is not shared with outside parties. However, donors and visitors should be aware that information collected online may be subject to examination and inspection if such information is a public record or not otherwise protected from disclosure.
If you have registered to receive communications from us and later change your mind, you may contact us to have your name and contact information removed from our distribution lists. You can send an inquiry through the contact form on the Site.
